| Giant slalom specialist Tina Maze of Slovenia took good advantage of improved visibility to claim first place in saturday's downhill in St.Moritz. Maze covered the Corviglia course in 1 minute, 44.38 seconds to edge Maria Holaus of Austria by 0.34. Sixteen-year-old Lara Gut of Switzerland took third, 0,01 behind Holaus, despite falling after the last jump and crossing the finish line with only one ski. Nicole Hosp finished 14th and still leads overall standings by 99 points on Lindsay Vonn who had to be content with a fifth place. |
